Hong Kong public toilet guide
Need a toilet in Hong Kong right now? The fastest way: go to the home page and tap "Find the nearest toilet". Here's what else to know.
1. FEHD public toilets: free and everywhere
The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department runs hundreds of public toilets, all free. Most open from early morning until about 11pm, and some are open 24 hours. Wet markets and cooked food centres usually have one too.
2. MTR station toilets
Most MTR stations have toilets, usually inside the paid area (after the ticket gates), so go before you tap out. See which MTR stations have toilets.
3. Shopping malls
Mall toilets are often the cleanest option, usually with accessible toilets and nursing rooms, open during mall hours. See mall toilets.
4. McDonald's and fast food
Most McDonald's have customer toilets; some need a code or key from the counter. See McDonald's toilets.
5. Hiking and country parks
Country park toilets are at barbecue sites, management centres and main trailheads. Check hiking toilets before you set off.
6. Accessible toilets and baby changing
Wheelchair users: see accessible toilets. With a baby: see baby changing facilities.
